Ford Extends Scrappage Scheme To Include Ranger

Ford has extended its UK scrappage scheme into 2018 to include the ever popular Ford Ranger pickup truck, offering drivers more opportunities to cash in on their old car and to join the ever growing band of pick-up drivers in the country.

The American car giant was amongst the majority of manufacturers including VW and BMW offering motorists money off new low emissions cars, but have now broadened their offering out even wider.

Under the Ford scrappage scheme drivers can bag up to £2,000 off a new car in the company’s range costing between £12,000 and £20,000.

Applicable vehicles are any pre-Euro 5 cars and vans, of any manufacturer, registered before 31st December 2009.

So far the scheme has seen over 10,500 cars scrapped and swapped for more efficient vehicles such as the new Ford Ranger pickup.

Andy Barratt, Ford of Britain chairman and managing director, said: “The Ford scrappage scheme has been so well received by our customers and I’m pleased to announce its extension in to next year. We have an excellent product line-up and our scheme is applicable to one of the broadest ranges of vehicles, including the segment leading Ford Ranger. We continue to carry strong sales momentum as we more towards the end of the year. Our CV sales growth was particularly positive in an increasingly challenging market. “
