PICKUP TRUCKS - THERE IS NO CHANGE TO RECLAIMING THE VAT.

We have heard lots of mis-information about the upcoming changes so want to clarify;

• There is NO change to the VAT rules on pick-up trucks. VAT can still be reclaimed as previously.

• The change only surrounds ‘BIK’ benefit in kind. From 6th April 25’ This change only applies to those who use the vehicle for private use. If you do not use the vehicle for private use, then you do not pay the BIK charge. If for example you have a 2nd car that you use for personal use instead of your pick-up, then BIK does not apply.

It's that simple.

• Also; Even if you do use it for private use, If you buy or lease a pick-up prior to 6th April 25’ then the above BIK rule does not affect you for 4-years (4-year grace period) Only vehicles acquired after 6th April 25 are affected only where private use is declared.

• To be clear, there are no changes to VAT and no changes whatsoever if there is no private use.
