The VW Amarok Tailgate does not lock via your car's central locking. The Power Lock converts your tailgate into central locking working in conjunction with your existing central locking and existing key fob.
The simple design affords added security and flexibility, you can lock or unlock your tailgate using your key fob or your key.
The VW Amarok tailgate power lock works best when the car is fitted with either a tonneau cover or and hardtop and maximises the security of the pickup.

SImplesGreat addition if you don't have tail central locking already, very very simple to fit. One improvement would be a t-piece for the cable rather than scotch block or soldering, however, it does the job well and took minutes to install.
Tip - if you are soldering, rather than cut the wire, bare the metal by stripping back the insulation, tin, then solder the wires together. If you have a gun and some heat shrink, put some around join, then wrap in external insulation & protection tape.Posted on
