The tailgate lift uses a Japanese torsion bar set-up to assist upward lift by reducing the tailgate's weight by c.70% this reduces the effort required to close the tailgate – very reliable.

Works wellDamper works well and easy to fit.
Tailgate assist up & down. Starts off easy. Follow instructions closely, all good but found it impossible to fit item 14. (Support plate inside) I think Toyota has remodeled the tailgate on the new 2022 Invincible X.fitting item 3 (bush support) is difficult but doable by ignoring instructions but doable. Lost a bit of skin in the process. But as I said the kit works well and is worth doing. The way the vehicle is built results in a heavy tailgate. But worth it. Solid and strong.Posted on

Very happy ladyOrdered this part as I had just bought a Hilux GR Sport and didn’t realise it didn’t have this on as with my Mitsubishi Barbarian. Struggled to close the tailgate and dropped it with a huge bang! This is amazing! I warned the guy who fitted it about the previous review re skinning knuckles and yes he did have a few scratches but I didn’t.

Good product, fiddly installOverall very happy with this. What a difference having the slow opening and close makes, it’s wild that for the price, pickups don’t come with this as standard.
Install instructions are pretty clear and each step is fairly straightforward. Unless you have the arms of a ten year old though, the steps which require playing about inside the tailgate are pretty fiddly and kinda painful.
Not cheap, but overall very happy with it.Posted on
