Truly a wolf in sheep’s clothing! The brand new General Grabber AT All-TERRAIN tyres for superb on and off-road performance. The latest Complex and technical design delivers astonishing off-road performance with outstanding on-road safety and noise reduction.
On test, Land Rover Owner Magazine wrote ‘Off-Road performance is on a par with the acclaimed AT2, but On-Road is significantly better’. Land Rover Monthly wrote of their test ‘ The General Grabber’s self-cleaning properties were very apparent during our testing as the grooves remained clear of debris under all manner of conditions. The astonishing grip that these tyres exert was demonstrated when we stopped a Discovery 4, with four people on board on a 32-degree incline on wet rock and the vehicle just sat there without slipping…. I have to say it was all very impressive.
Launched in 2010 we’ve had great customer feedback at 4x4AT from users impressed by the new pattern Grabber AT used in the harsh winter & snow of 2010 and 2011 despite it looking less aggressive than the old pattern these performed better than expected in snow and winter conditions. In summary, a great all-rounder that’s quiet on-road and excellent off-road.
Here’s what General say: The General Grabber 4x4 tyre is designed specifically to offer high grip and good handling both on and off-road. The rugged structure of the General Grabber AT protects the tread and sidewall from damage, whilst ensuring comfortable driving characteristics and provides for high mileage performance. The new AT tyre compound and tread pattern have been developed with an emphasis on safety for on-road and off-road. The wet braking and noise reduction performance is better than its predecessor. Therefore this all-terrain tyre is the solution for increased demands for on-road driving whilst maintaining off-road performance.

Wet Grip Rating: E
Wet weather tyres are rated A to E. A choice of A-rated tyres instead of E-rated tyres would cut wet braking distances by 18 metres.
External Rolling Noise: 72db
Breaking down the noise level ratings:
Rating A indicates 3 decibels or more under the current noise legislation. Rating B indicate an acceptable noise level for current and future noise legislation. Rating C indicate a tyre that will meet current noise mandated levels, but will fail future limits and need changing in the future.
