OE Style Stainless Steel Roll Bar For Volkswagen Amarok. Manufactured from large 3" (76mm) diameter hand polished stainless steel tubing with a mirror finish. This Amarok roll bar (styling bar) fixes to the VW Amarok’s bed and is secured using stainless steel mounting brackets and stainless steel fitting hardware. A very similar method that VW themselves use. If you wish to mount spot lights to the roll bar, this can be done (option of the light mounting brackets – bottom of page). Should you wish to add an Amarok load bed cover at a later date, this Roll bar (styling bar) is compatible with both Roll N Lock and Sport Lid tonneau covers.
We could use a cheap mild steel and then chrome plate it when manufacturing our bars but we don’t.
Because after a year or so the bar would look unsightly when weeping rust stains appear. In the iron/carbon mix chromium is also added that gives the steel its stainless qualities. The chromium element stops the iron from oxidising and becoming rust (iron oxide). Road salt used during European winters and sea salt, speed up rust formation and again gives us another good reason to use stainless steel here in the UK & in Europe where our products are sold. Stainless steel can be exposed to the elements all year round and with a little polish now and again, can look as good as the day it came out of the packaging. This is the reason boat makers use stainless, and not mild steel.
Our stainless has a 3-year warranty, features a mirror polished chrome or black powder coated look (on some black finished items) but is in-fact more expensive, more durable, stainless steel.
