The Original Mountain Top Chequer plate Tonneau Cover is a highly functional pickup bed cover made to fit most standard pickup trucks. The cover is made of heavy duty aluminium and can support up to 100 kg on top of the cover. It even has built in rails to secure your cargo. Adding the cover to your truck makes it more aerodynamic and saves you fuel.
The Original Mountain Top Tonneau Cover is designed to provide optimal functionality to the user. Cargo can easily be accessed from three sides. In addition, the cover has a simple hinge system which makes it easy to remove without tools. The user can easily change from a covered pickup bed to an open pickup bed and back again.

1. Is it necessary to make alterations on the car in order to mount a cover?
In order to securely mount a new Mountain top tonneau cover you must drill a few minor holes for the gas springs, the catch on the tail gate, and the hinge plate in the front of the truck bed. This procedure stabilizes the cover and ensures the cover will remain in place, attached to the truck. Other tonneau covers may not require drilling holes, but they arent built to carry the weight and secure your cargo as the Mountain Top cover does.
2. How much can be loaded on top of the Chequer plate cover?
The Mountain Top cover can hold up to 220 lbs (100KG) of cargo on top of the aluminium frame. Additionally, the cover has sturdy, aluminium railings to attach rope to secure your cargo.
3. How long does it take to mount a cover and can I do it myself?
It will take approximately one and a half hours to mount the tonneau cover. Two people are needed to lift, balance and place the cover into the mounting position. In order to install the tonneau cover, the following tools are needed: drill, screwdriver, wrench and, in some cases, blind riveting pliers.
4. Are all the necessary parts for mounting included in the box when the tonneau cover is delivered?
Yes. When your Mountain Top Chequer tonneau cover arrives, the shipment will include the lock set, gas springs, hinge plates, necessary screws, and mounting instructions. The tonneau cover alone is ready for mounting, which should take about one and a half hours.
5. Is the tonneau cover water tight and lockable?
Your Mountain Top cover is tested to have a water tight seal between the aluminium and the black rubber piece before it leaves our warehouse. If installed properly on a water tight truck bed, your tonneau cover will keep your cargo dry.
The locking system on the Chequer plate tonneau cover is a key system. You have added security with the Mountain Top cover because it is attached to the truck bed by screws and hinge plates, eliminating the possibility of simply lifting the cover off of the truck.
